SSPYBA offers in-house baseball for ages 5 - 12.  Your son or daughter will play on a team based on their age as of May 1st, 2026.

In-House baseball is where kids begin to learn the sport. Our in-house teams will play opponents from Inver Grove Heights, Mendota Heights, and West Saint Paul. The player's age determines what level he or she will play at.

Eight year olds have the choice to play machine pitch or kid pitch. If your player is newer to the game, we recommend choosing machine pitch.

Nine, ten, eleven and twelve year olds will play kid pitch.

The In-House season will begin in early May and will end shortly after July 4th.

Practices will hopefully begin in mid-April as soon as the fields are ready.

Expect ages 5-8 (grades K-2) to play on Mondays and Wednesdays, while ages 9-11 (grades 3-5) will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Recreational in-house baseball is known to have a lower level of competitiveness than traveling baseball.  Any players new to the sport that are considering joining a recreational team should be made aware of the following:

• Rec baseball is very affordable if you are interested in joining the sport.
• Playing time is guaranteed.  Every player who registers will play equally regardless of ability.
• No tryouts are necessary to join a team.  All registered players are placed on teams. 
• There are minimal practice days and recurring weekly games, making it easier on the family schedule.
